Treasure Chest of Courage is a series of stories that complement and build upon the original Ranking of Kings. While some parts are well-executed, there are instances where the stories delve into more detail about what I already know. Unfortunately, this becomes a stumbling block for me. My expectation was to uncover something new, to look deeper into the world and its inhabitants. However, aside from the last episode, which can be considered a genuine continuation of the original series, offering hints about the future direction and potential secrets, I wasn't offered anything new. Character development is also somewhat lacking, as there's no truly fresh perspective on the individual characters; instead, it's a repetition and emphasis on what I already knew about them. This, in my view, makes the whole endeavor seem somewhat pointless, except for the aforementioned last episode. It did manage to pique my interest for a second (regular) season of Ranking of Kings, as the world clearly has more to offer and say. Yet, I believe the creators should focus on moving forward instead of dwelling on observation, retrospection, and repetition of what's already known. Otherwise, I find myself watching more than half of the series with minimal interest, and even the beautiful colors showcased by WIT Studio won't elevate my impression beyond 6/10. ()
