Children of the Coast

Following different Afro-Mexican musicians from the Costa Chica region (Guerrero and Oaxaca, Mexico) takes us deeper into coastal popular culture and reveals the story of a community that, through its music, pays tribute to its people, the sea, the field and everything that connects them to the earth. A documentary that portrays the musician in his purest state, wrapped in his immediate environment and exalting musical tradition as an elementary principle in the construction of the identity of today’s Mexico.
