Wounded gunslinger Quirt Evans is taken in and nursed back to health by the Worths, a kindly Quaker family. As he gradually falls in love with Prudence Worth, he comes to understand the power of faith and the futility of his violent ways. His old life returns to haunt him, however, in the form of a vicious outlaw out to kill him, and Quirt finds himself torn between pacifism and the desire for revenge. (official distributor synopsis)

Some of the characters are quite interesting, while some are quite vapid and not very original or any more dimensional. John Wayne does his standard here, but it must be said that for many other actors, this would be above standard. He can be funny and romantic, and handle most poses when needed. Unfortunately, the film itself doesn't really stand out and it's basically just another Wild West story, with a stagecoach chase and a bar fight.
