English I know that Black Lightning was a terrible debacle. That there is a bunch of absolutely terrible mistakes in it and the creators in the story copy almost every filmed comic hero from America. However, despite all the foolishness that the film offers, I was not bored for the entire 106 minutes of the film. I liked how the Russians wanted to try something of their own, but still entertaining and in a way epic, like when the Yanks film, for example, Spiderman or Iron Man. I liked that even with the little they had, they were able to play great music. That the actors were incredibly cool, that Yekaterina Vilkova was incredibly beautiful. Well, simply a lot of music for little money and even though it was sometimes brutally stupid, I just enjoyed it the whole time. And I would be surprised if Dmitrij Kiselev did not soon appear in America with a bigger budget and a better story. ()

English Fun, fun, fun. I don't like Spider-Man so I didn't really care if and how much Black Lightning rips it off. I liked the main character a lot more, though. The idea with the flying Volga is, I think, unbeatable and it looks like the director and the screenwriter(s) fulfilled a boy's dream by making it. The film is fast-paced, it doesn't get boring, the special effects are quite good, the music is especially bombastic, which is responsible for most of the "big" atmosphere. True, apart from the flying ancient carriage, Black Lightning is nothing revelatory or original, but that didn't matter. I liked the Russian popcorn. ()
