The film follows Venus 'Vee' Delmonico (Emma Roberts) as she takes part in an online game of truth or dare where she is assigned goals to complete for money. But, as a player, Vee soon finds her every move being controlled by her growing number of watchers, who follow her online as she completes her dares. After teaming up with Ian (Dave Franco), the pair get given a series of dares to complete together, with the money and danger involved increasing each time. As the experience quickly evolves into a life-or-death struggle, Vee realises that the only way to escape the game without losing everything is to win it all. (Lionsgate Home Entertainment)

English The immensely sympathetic main protagonist, a current new idea and the beautifully colored camera surprised me and turned Nerve into a pleasant experience. The finale is, true, a little barren and the most thrilling scene was the motorcycle ride. However, watching till the end was not as much of a problem as it might seem after seeing the teaser. ()

English Teenagers deserve their movies, and Nerve does that well, however much its focus on the current state of social interaction makes it topical for about four minutes. Still, it does an excellent job visually of looking at the world through the screen, especially with the neon lights nonsensically strewn about the set, the accentuation of color, the frequent up shots, or the overall conception of big-city youth as an extravagant fashion show. The real world is thus loosely intertwined with the virtual one, reflecting the concept of seeing reality through a colored image, where I can always choose what reality will look like. The soc-transition itself predictably gets brutally out of hand at the end and the film turns into total idiocy, but up to that point it's quite enjoyable, constantly stirring the pot and, most importantly, visually captivating. English Nerve is a very solid modern thriller that benefits from the behavior of modern youth, social media, the Internet, and mostly its anonymity. Well, and of course, it goes to the extreme. Personally, I have to say that, except for a few details when I would give the juniors a couple of slaps, and the unnecessarily hyped music, I was satisfied. What initially appeared to be just another nonsense for the youth is, in the end, a very clever and suspenseful thriller that will give some food for thought to everyone who was born in the age of the Internet and isn’t a hacker who undoubtedly knew these things a long time ago and can also use them, if they want. One of the most original movies of the year 2016. ()

English A film aimed at and designed for today’s internet generation as its target audience. It sort of warns against the dangers of the virtual world, highlighting that it’s not smart to put our personal information online, as it can end up in the wrong hands. Essentially, the film told me what I already knew, but I liked the way it presented it. I can’t help but feel that the film starts off a bit like a comedy, though that doesn’t last long. I expected far more suspenseful moments, but I didn’t get that, which was a bit disappointing. The lead duo was likable and well-matched, so there’s not much to criticize there. Even though it was supposed to be a thriller, as I mentioned earlier, there were only a handful of such elements. Sometimes the film seemed to act like it was being funny, even when it wasn’t really. The concept had some merit, but it definitely had more potential. The ending was pretty ordinary, with nothing that stood out. It’s certainly not a bad film, but nothing convinced me to watch it again, and mainly, I didn’t feel like it had a $20 million budget because it didn’t show. I give it 64%. ()

English A pleasantly modern thrilling ride that is frightening in how real it is and highlights the flaws of our times. Nerve has a nice pace, an attractive Emma Roberts, and playful visuals, and it manages to mine some decent suspense. One of those films that can be recommended to all from both an educational and entertainment point of view. 80% ()
