Despicable Me 4 plays it safe. Gru with his family and the Minions are in the witness protection program, but it doesn't really matter. The whole thing is still more a collection of slapstick than a movie. Some of the jokes work, some don't, the Minions do what they always do, and we get a few action scenes. And it looks cute. If you enjoyed it three times, you'll enjoy it a fourth time. If not, there's no point in trying. The changes, innovations and developments were things that clearly no one here cared about. Whether that's a good thing or not is for you to decide. Personally, I'm getting a little sick of it, but it's survivable.

The summer cinema ride begins, and the first film is Despicable Me 4. Compared to the previous parts, I have to criticize the rather bland villain and a basic template that is completely bare with nothing extra, so we are left with only the humor, which (although there are scenes that reminded me of clichés I've seen hundreds of times in Disney movies, both corny and unfunny) is fortunately good enough and I must say that whenever the Minions are on the scene, I laughed like a little kid. Once again, they bring us a bunch of absurd situations and fits of laughter. All in all, the new installment still deserves a cautious 4*, even though in places I found it a bit worse than the previous ones and that the whole main line with the villain was kind of not very interesting, but fortunately it's all saved by the solid humour that had the whole cinema laughing. Jackpot for kids, good fun for adults.
