Elmo Lincoln, the first actor to play Tarzan, stars in this origination tale of how the Lord of the Jungle came to be. It is revealed that Tarzan, in actuality, is Lord Greystoke, a boy whose parents die in the jungle and who is left to fend for himself. What happens next is extraordinary. A female ape takes to mothering the orphaned boy and raises him over the course of many years until a rescue mission is finally launched and the search party combs the jungle for the long-time missing Lord Greystoke. But then, one of the search members, Jane Porter (Enid Markey) finds herself lost in the dense tangle of trees and tropical plants, coming face to face with fearsome wild animals.
