A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting

I’m a fan of fantasy, and I don’t mind when it falls into the young adult category. A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting fits that mold perfectly, and since I didn’t have any major expectations, it ended up being a pretty fun watch. Tom Felton completely steals the show with his eccentric performance, giving the movie a surprising amount of energy. The set design was well done too, and the creatures had me wondering why they felt so familiar—until I realized Ivan Reitman, the Ghostbusters creator, was involved. It all made sense after that. Kids will love it, and while it may feel a bit too juvenile for adults, fantasy fans will still find it enjoyable. No major complaints on the technical side either! (2020-11-11)
