It feels like the Italians got stuck in the early 2000s with this one, back when these kinds of horror movies were still a thing. The only redeeming factor here is the cinematography, which shows off the stunning landscapes of southern Italy. The rest? Total snooze-fest.

The Italian movie The Binding certainly does not do Italian horror any great service. It is a movie that is more of a gamble in the sense that there is no original storyline as the movie’s makers went with the tried and true tropes that they seem to have used so that they did not have the problem of trying to come up with even at least a slightly original movie. However, what more can I say? It is OK if you just want to pass the time one evening.
