Astronaut Steve West was the only survivor of an expedition to the rings of Saturn. The crew on the mission discovered something that killed all but West, and he was left with the horrible condition of his flesh continually melting and falling off his body. He only thing that relieves his pain is eating live human cells, so West has returned to earth as a mutated cannibal. After killing several people, West escapes into the woods with a NASA researcher and a group of military personnel in pursuit. (official distributor synopsis)
